AFAIK two-way support was only planned but never actually used in scctext.
As long as you save vcx/vct in your vault, it doesn't really matter as you can always use the same prg to get an ASCII based comparable.

Switching to a way of saving only the ASCII/XML comparable in the vault would need the transformation to be guaranteed error free - only for the possibility to compare directly ?
