The goal is to use the visual comparison of GKK for forms and classes. That is what sets GKK apart from the other comparison tools. The backup files Vault stores in _sgvault directories for forms are just renamed files so they can be renamed to create the .sct and the .scx. However, I haven't fitgured out yet how to determine which file is associated with the other without querying sqlserver. For example, a form named myform will have myform.scx and myform.sct. The backups could be 107832.1234 and 103293.3215. I haven't queried vault's tables yet to determine how it relates them - I am assuming there is a field with that information. I would like to do this without querying sqlserver though. When I pass the parameters to GKK, it sends myform.scx and 123419.1231 for the version of the backup I want to compare to. I need to be able to determine which other numbered file is the corresponding .sct. Classes are done differently. The numbered file vault passes for the backup is really a .vca file so I would like to use scctext to recreate the .vcx and .vct from it.

>AFAIK two-way support was only planned but never actually used in scctext.
>As long as you save vcx/vct in your vault, it doesn't really matter as you can always use the same prg to get an ASCII based comparable.

>Switching to a way of saving only the ASCII/XML comparable in the vault would need the transformation to be guaranteed error free - only for the possibility to compare directly ?
