Hi,

This is my first message in the .NET forum.

I just decided (finaly) to embrace the .NET technology, and for that started reading Kevin McNeish and Les Pinter Books, because I'm a long time VFP developer.

Now I'm looking for VB.NET books. After a first search at Amazon, found these (below) that think will best suit my needs. I'm an experienced programmer that worked with many languages, looking for books that have good conceptual information and deep information on programming techniques applied to that specific language.

For that I found:

VB.net Learnig

Programming Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Version 2003, by Francesco Balena

101 Microsoft Visual Basic .NET Applications, by Sean Campbell

Database Learning

Database Access with Visual Basic .NET, by Jeffrey P. McManus

Choosing a .net Laguage

Visual Basic .NET or C#, Which to Choose?, by Dan Appleman
http://www.amazon.com/Visual-Basic-Which-Choose-VS2005/dp/B0006AB0N0/sr=1-108/qid=1163855676/ref=sr_1_108/104-0331777-0478337?ie=UTF8&s=books

My choice already is VB.NET, but want to know more about C#, to check out wat I migtht be missing and see if that makes any diference to my needs, so I selected the book above as well.

I would thank you for any comments and suggestions on books that could help me in the transition from VFP to the .NET platform. Also I'm interested in information in using VS 2005.

Regards,

Fernando
