Hi Ben.
I have got VFPprinting Chinese Characters fine to a dot matrix printer... thanks again for all your help.

You might be able to help me with one further question. My customer has a piece of software on his notebook pc (he uses with Word and Excel) that he can type in say an English character and it suggests a few different options, then he types in the next character, and it suggests the next Chinese symbol.. he says it works phonetically.

This does not seem to be installed as standard in the Network Pc's
(A friend of his ,now gone back to Hong Kong, in stalled it on his Notebook)

Would you have any idea what this software is ??. I have shown him whats on MS word on the network (after installing as per your suggestion) but he says it is not the same as what he has on his own notebook.

Regards,

Gerard

>You may install Windows Multilanguage pack CD disk 1 and select either Simplified (Mainland China) or Traditional (Taiwan & HK) Chinese. You may get the Multilanguage pack CD from MSDN download.
>
>If you don't have the Multilanguage pack CD, you may open the Control Panel and select Regional and Language Options. On the Language page, check "Install files for Ease Asian languages". If you are going to display or input Chinese in your VFP on the same machine, you must on the Advanced page select "Chinese..." in the Language for non-Unicode programs dropdown.
