> If I remember 1991 I think we did have some very severe weather - gales and stuff

I took a duty free ferry from Fishgard to Wexford that time of year. On the way over we hit a gale. Every single person, save me (I swear) got sick. On the way back we were so scared of getting sick that we took Gravol and slept. Thing is we forgot that the boat came in a 2am. We were tired enough, never mind being under the influence of Gravol, and had to haul our packs around town looking for a place to camp. We ending up pitching a tent in a schoolyard. We woke up to the sound of schoolkids playing soccer around us. We hussled out before getting arrested or chewed out.

With Vancouver Island blocking most of the nasty stuff, it isn't very coastal here. The tides, winds and waves are moderate. Almost like liking on a large lake.

My condolences. That was a weird few days.
