>to make matters worse, that BBC radio show Terry and i were talking about a few days ago has a section where the panel (of comedians) are invited to give new meaning to existing words and make them more applicable to modern life.

That sort of sport is long in use back home, specially online, and numerous "dictionaries" of the kind are circling the web for at least a decade. Off the top of my head, a few translatable ones:

dekret (decree) - dete kreten (child cretin)
čačkalica (toothpick) - cosmetician (čačka lica - picks faces)
selotejp (sellotape) - cassette with folk music (selo - village)
kevin kostner - mom's chiropractor (keva - mom, kost - bone)
bambus (bamboo) - bus crash
mubarak - cow stable (moo barrack)

back to same old

the first online autobiography, unfinished by design
What, me reckless? I'm full of recks!
Balkans, eh? Count them.
