I saw a UK TV prog a few years ago about the development of a malodorant (bad smell) crowd control weapon:

In the prog the UK presenter tested out essence of skunk on himself and stood in a shopping plaza. Surprisingly not all were disgusted (there's a surprisingly high proportion of people who don't mind the smell). The prog also featured the obvious, and well rotted African savanah carcass attractive only to vultures and hyenas. In the end the presenter put on a helmet into which was fed the cocktail of smells (as secret as anything from Estee Lauda). He sweated, went cold, felt nauseous and couldn't stand too long.

PS the prog pointed out that a hyena's constitution, never mind putting up with the above, is actually proof to anthrax, for Godssakes!

>"Goodbye weapon"? Any weapon that kills. Just before you use it, say "goodbye" to the "target". :)

>I suppose they could eventually tune it so it causes impulses to travel along the nerves without heating the tissues. Change the power levels to go from irritating "goodbye" weapon to "goodnight" weapon - set this thing on stun!

>>Who knows, one day maybe wars will be fought with just incapacitating devices whereby no-one get killed - maybe bombs that just put you to blissful sleep. Hey, why not just use paint-ball guns?

>Bang! Combatants fall down. They awaken in 5 minutes. Bang! "Deja Vu weapon". ;)

Very good! :-)

>>>Check this line: The beam produces what experimenters call the "Goodbye effect," or "prompt and highly motivated escape behavior." What a way to phrase things.

- Worry is the interest you pay, in advance, for a loan that you may never need to take out.
