The primary meaning of "extinguish" is "put an end to; kill". "Ugasiti se" is for fire and light only.

Found another two missing words in English yesterday: "trudnica" (pregnant woman) and "bolesnik" (ill person). Note that the latter is not the same as patient, because patient is a party in a treatment process; "bolesnik" is just ill, no treatment implied. From "bolest" - disease, "bolestan" - ill.
