I find this a bit intriguing.
Firstly I saw from scanning the first few lines of Rick's article that he says VFP9 is much better than 8 on Unicode handling. About time I moved up a version...
But I've got forms in VFP8 that contain ordinary subclassed edit boxes etc, into which I can type English and then use the ALT+0000 key combination to insert accented characters etc. Is that not Unicode in the same sense as say supporting Bulgarian in my app, even if I could find a Bulgarian keyboard in the UK, lol.
Perhaps what is actually needed is some guidance on commercial practices in different countries of the world. I think the HSBC bank offer a service like this. For example, I see your name is Jordan Jordanov. Does that make Jordan your first name? I already know in Hungary the order of firstname/lastname is reversed...
