It sounds like it would be more efficient if you could link into the Windows Desktop Search meta data to achieve this. Sounds like re-inventing the wheel...

The other thing is that I recall issues with using FILE().

FILE() will use the VFP SET PATH value when searching, but SYS(2000) doesn't. I know at DataSure we used to use SYS(2000) for this very reason; about the only good thing that was done at Datasure...
