Cetin;

In my previous life as an electronics engineer I was very familiar with IEEE 488, also called GPIB. We used it to control electronics test and measurement equipment.

John Fluke had a controller for something like $12,000. A company in San Luis Obispo, California had one for about $300. There were PC cards available long ago beginning with Pickles and Trout for the S-100 Bus Computers. The little Commodore computer for less than $300 had an IEEE 488 interface which was included with the basic computer.

Try using Google and search on IEEE 488

Tom

P.S. Often I wish I was back in electronics, but times change. I guess if I was working as an engineer I would have to be in China! There is no work here to speak of in my field. :)

>Hi Tore,
>Trying my chance:)
>We have an equipment called SBE 9plus (www.seabird.com) with a Deck unit 11Plus. Deck unit connects to the computer via a GPIB card. Our existing card is old (I first saw it around 1996 in use), 8bits, ISA and doesn't work over 8Mhz (I couldn't make it work on any computer faster than a 486 IOW).
>We are now seeking for a new version. I found USB,PCI GPIB cards from quancom.de, inesinc.com, amplicon.com.uk, agilent.com ... The problem is only one of them (agilent) has a distributor in Turkey as I could find and their prices sounded to be high.
>Does your firm manufacture such cards and if yes is there a way we could buy (and of course then I would need price info too).
>If that info wouldn't take much time I'd appreciate.
>TIA
