I have written a utility which emulates the Foxpro's COPY FILE procedure, only it has a thermometer and it is about 10 times faster. Since COPY FILE keeps the modified date the same I wanted to do the same thing and this has given me the ability to do this. If you are interested in the routine let me know and I will be happy to send it to you. Thanks again for your help.

Appreciate the offer Gene, but I've already got a class to do this stuff. One word of warning about altering the date/times. You're free to set them as you will on a local drive, but on a network is another story. I haven't been able to reset the creation date on Novell or NT (thanks John). I think that the OS restricts that. It might work if you've got supervisor rights, but otherwise, nope.
