Yes, I had thought of that, but not gotten to it yet (I was doubtful about that solution, since this is Excel 2002). I just tried it. Unfortunately, my doubts were correct. Same problem. But then I just saved it in the Excel 5.0/95 format and the problem is solved.
This is one of the irritating issues with VFP - that they haven't updated the capabilities of import/export as the newer versions of Excel have come out. I don't always see this problem, but I did in this spreadsheet for some reason.
