I can't use VGA, of course, because my screens are too big. I downloaded the most recent video drivers from Compaq, same deal. I have other Compaqs, 100's and 133's, that run this app just fine.

This is another one of the reasons in my long list of why I really, really don't like Compaqs. It started years ago when they decided to use proprietary screws on their cases and I had to have that special Compaq screwdriver just to get inside of one. I find that many of the components are still "Compaq-proprietary" and not what I'd call compatible. The video drivers are a prime example; I know they are what's causing the problem, and yet I cannot use SVGA Windows driver because that special Compaq card doesn't support SVGA. The video card checks out, and I downloaded the most current video driver for this card from their site and installed it with no change in the problem. Unfortunately, this is a Compaq shop and so I will have to live with it.
