This won't be much help, but I have an "instant reboot" situation on Dells with Win 95. We have an old DOS Kermit app that is (was!) still used for a few things. When you go to File Manager/Explorer and just click on the Kermit directory, the PCs either totally lock or reboot. It's so bizarre that it's comical! I mean, just a directory click...

I have someone in LAN support working on it, but it sounds like something different from your problem...just the same symptoms.
