I'm starting a client/server app that will use Oracle 8 as backend, so I'm finding this issue rather important. I've just downloaded the new Oracle 8 ODBC driver from Intersolv and so far it works like a charm. It gets around both problems I've had with the Oracle 8 and MS for Oracle drivers. The performance is very good too (far better than the Microsoft driver).
