USB external devices - do they handle NTFS?

One of my clients has a 40 GB flash memory - with USB connection - about the size of a package of sweet chocolate or a small pocket book. I estimate the size to be about 15 x 10 x less than 1 cm.

When I checked it on my computer, it was set up for NTFS.

If you are interested, I can ask him for the model.
