Hi Randy,

Are you sure that you are generating the PNG and the background using the Alpha Channel correctly ?

I'm not sure if you're already aware of a limitation of Internet Explorer, you might have a look at these links too.

Another good aproach is to use GIFs instead og PNGs. GIFs offer a good support for transparencies and are compatible with all browsers.
