I thought very hard about replying and making this thread bigger. But since the first search page is already 100% occupied by posts in this thread, it makes little difference now.

All I'm saying is that I would feel happier if a search on "his" name in a popular VFP stomping ground were to go to a thread that celebrates his achievements, not an official interpretation that even if true has no bearing on his status in this community. You seem to have taken offence at some of the thread content- but that's just chatter in a chatter forum. IMHO the issue is an official opinion that does not need or deserve prominence. IOW I'm not casting aspersions at *anybody* here. I feel very sure that nobody went out of their way to make this happen or to show disrespect.

Maybe you or somebody like you should start a thread "the best thing I remember about Drew Speedie" or "The first time Drew Speedie helped me was..." so this thread gets demoted.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
