But it was the affair that started the whole ball rolling? Wasn't that whole very expensive congressional investigation called in order to delve into the fact that he had an affair in the oval office? I agree it was the lying that eventually gave the thing it's real impetus, but the investigation wasn't started about his lying. It was started in order to make him look bad (and of course, it succeeded beyond anyone's wildest dreams).

It had no bearing on his performance as President of the U.S. The lying under oath though should have resulted in impeachment. Now, I wouldn't know where to start on what GWB has done which he should have been impeached for.
