Actually, I like the CA. But PVs are not a bad choice. One reason you may end up with multiple query techniques in an app is simply its age. But, again, there is no basis for your "asking for trouble" statement just because different techniques are used. But now it's time to go to

I'm "going to far" to make a point. It seems only we in software use several techniques all at once. OH! I just thought of another group that does it too. There's a group of artists that use stomach contents for paint. Not everything is a good design. There have to be *bad* practices. I'm avoiding the lesser powerful approaches that have to be "workarounded".
