The problem had to do with a .dll which had ceased working in an intranet application. It was a simple object which would connect to a SQL database and return a datastream to the asp page. The object was being instantiated fine but when trying to create the connection to SQL Server I received an error : "Login failed for user . Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection"

Our network has recently been switched to active directory and updated a number security issues. Since the application is rarely used we're not sure how long it had been down, but we assumed it had something to do with the updates.

The bottom line is that I re-installed everything. Runtimes, re-compiled .dll and previously I had manually registered the .dll using regsvr32. This time I used a COM+ application. I believe it had something to do with the anonymous user that was being used. The new security protocols apparently didn't work with it. Nevertheless, that was not an issue with the COM+ installation.

>>UPDATE! Never mind, solution found.
