Hey, wait a minute... There used to be (don't know if there still is) a NUDE beach in Santa Barbara. A friend of mine lived on the beach in a beautiful home but it was on the nude beach :o) Now you can go nude, but you can't smoke? :o) Which is more offensive? :o)
>>>>Over here, of course, smoking bans are a local issue. Some states (like California) have implemented them, but far more are at the municipal level. However, to my knowledge, there's no place that has prohibited smoking in one's home, other than the case I mentioned.
>>>
>>>Where CAN one smoke in that case? Out in the Bad Lands?
>>
>>Typically, the smoking bans are for indoors and sometimes, within a certain distance of the entrances. I don't know of any place that has broadly outlawed outdoor smoking.
>
>Calabassas, CA -- No smoking anywhere in town except in your own home. You can get a ticket for driving through with a lit cigarette. In the six months since the ban went into effect, three restaurants have closed/relocated.
>
>A local country club outlawed smoking on its golf course.
>
>No smoking on any public beach from Santa Barbara to the Mexican border.
>
>Now you know of a few.
