Hi Dan --
>>As to the argument that certain comments are going to scare away new programmers , I don't buy it. If that programmer doesn't have the intelligence and patience to read the entire thread, than I don't think we want that programmer.<<
I'm really curious about the common usage of "we" around here. Is this group really so paternalistic, that this is a common POV? That somehow the community is better off by avoiding folks who may be slightly challenged? Is it really that weak?
>>I really want to know what's going on.<<
Don't we all!
>>If VFP ever goes under, I'll be just as ready as anyone else to jump to VB<<
Get ready.
>>Actions speak louder than words. And from the all activities of M$ in regards to VFP, my read is that they are ambivalent at best.<<
Sounds like you understand the situation pretty well. Too bad folks around here seem to think less of you for your willingness to share your thoughts.
Maybe it's *you* the community doesn't need? Could that be the logical transition? From rejecting the ignorant unwashed to rejecting all those who utter a negative thought?
Best of luck... Karl
