I think I may be a bit confused here. From what you describe, I'm not sure it isn't doing what it's supposed to. When you say that it acts like a drop down list box, how do you mean that? You refer to the incremental search not working, but in a drop down combo box, to the best of my knowledge, there is no incremental search.

Can you type whatever you like into the box? If so, then I think it is doing what it is intended to do. I'm not really sure what you mean by 'arrow separated' either. In _look_, I don't really see any great difference between the two.

The difference between them is that in a drop down list, you can only pick from the list, and so you get the search, but in a drop down combo, you can pick from the list or type directly into the box, so you don't get the search. Other than that, they look pretty much the same.

Am I misunderstanding?
