Hello Alan,

I believe part of my problem originated from reading the Visual FoxPro
Developer's Guide. On page 295 two configurations of the Combo Box
are illustrated: the Drop-down Combo Box and the Drop-down List Box.
The Drop-down Combo Box(style 0)has the arrow icon separated, unattached,
not enclosed within the text area. The Drop-down List Box(style 2)shows
the arrow icon inside of or attatched to the text area.

But I can never replicate the first example - style 0. I have
given up on that for the time being. It may not be significant.

Next since all my research seemed to indicate that the Drop-down Combo Box
was the one we type text into I 'assumed' that it was the one used for
incremental search. Wrong. As stated in the text The Visual Guide to Visual
FoxPro 3.0 (Ventana) page 469: That although style 0 allows you to specify
Incremental Search = .T. the results are not what you might expect. The
incremental Search is supported in the Drop-down List Box.

I wasn't getting the expected results from that style either until I set
_DBClick = 2.5. I guess I just type too slow.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. Have a nice day.

Regards,

Paige
