> No, I just find it interesting that some folks using this product have gone as far as threatening to "beat me up" for my viewpoints. I've observed the shared psychosis from afar for quite some time, and figured it was time to dive right in and try to come fully to terms with what it is that drives folks to these extremes.

Yeah, but do you really think they could take you? Maybe we could get the WWF to do a VB vs. VFP Brawl for it All or something. It couldn't be any worse than Rodman vs. Malone. :)

I've been working in Fox since FoxBase+ and dBase since I was in highschool, so it's really just been a natural progression. Now I've got a product to support and customers that depend on me to upgrade it. I've looked at other development languages and considered jumping ship from time to time for bigger markets, but I'd leave most of my customers behind if I did and right now I really don't have the resources to develop frameworks/RAD tools for multiple environments. We strongly considered doing a VB framework for VB 5 and played around with the idea for several weeks. I'd be a fool not to consider going to a larger and potentially more lucrative market. The bottom line was that it'd take 3-4 times longer to develop and couldn't provide half the functionality, so we didn't do it. VB 6.0 doesn't really change things as far as that's concerned. If VB 7 gets the features I need...
