I don't think I'm pessimistic about it at all, just realistic. I really believe VFP is going to go away, and that it's in the process of going away right now. I think there'll still be a 7 and maybe even an 8. By the time it happens though, I don't really think it'll matter much. VB & VFP get closer with each release and in the long run, I basically think all of VFP's functionality will be available in VB. (Yes, here we go again, Visual FoxBasic.)At that point, we'll all know OOP, data access and database design better than the majority of the people currently working in VB, and we'll code circles around them. I just hope that there's actually some kind of realistic migration path for existing applications.

Yes, but if you look at how much the other VS tools were enhanced compared to 6.0, you can see where the money is going.
