ASP.NET send requests to the report component then VFP pulls data from SQL Server 2005, compiles the data sends it out using the VFP reporting engine to a PDF file. I've played with Crystal a bit and find it odd. What do people recommend for creating reports (mostly PDF) these days from an ASP.NET application? Is SQL Reporting services worth a look? I would like something that doesn't require a plug-in to be installed in the browser. Ideally I could output to PDF, Excel, HTML and other formats. But just PDF is fine for now.

Hi Kevin. In terms of only an ASP.NET app accessing Crystal (not the users directly) which functionality is missing from SSRS? Which edition of Crystal would you recommend for an ASP.NET app like above.
