I wonder what will be your choice when converting VFP app to .NET: Windows or Web Forms? Dmitry...
Until last year, I avoided WebForms unless I HAD TO. However, between the capabilities of Atlas/Ajax, and the functionality of ASP.NET 2.0, and the capabilities of third-party controls like Infragistics and Telerik, I've had a change of heart.
While I still believe that Winforms is a better choice for "internal" applications where you can dictate that the .NET framework is installed on each user's machine....I believe the Webform development platform has gotten much better. Back in 2001, I was constantly using the famous MSDN article, "Death of the browser" as reason to do virtually everything in winforms. Suffice it to say, I haven't used that argument in a while.
Often times, the requirements of the application will dictate platform.
