You misunderstand me. I am saying that you describe a situation where data handling needs to occur in a specific way in order to be efficient.

I don't remember who, but someone from MS who posts here mentioned that there was someone who brought an app to MS and asked for help in rewriting it in dotnet. And MS couldn't do it acceptably.

My point is that you have a specific need that is not present in 98% of business apps. How many business apps are there in the world. And how many are written in VFP? I feel pretty comfortable in saying that the VFP percentage is exremely small. The reason being that the benefits that VFP brings to the table are not all that important in most scenarios.

>It is possible that John R. has a need to massage hugh amounts of data. But the typical business app doesn't have to operate that way. So far he's the only one who's described a scenario where he might be better off sticking with VFP. But I just don't see it from anyone else here.

>I'll say {again) that I perceived and acted on all the reasons you raise for abandoning VFP long before you did.
>
>Why isn't it possible that I've also perceived a need for data spanning long before you?
