My wifes family who are Jewish regularly make corned beef here though they call it salt beef. Its the sort of thing where everybody has a recipe and think theirs is best. A good Jewish deli should be able to sell you some.
One of the ingredients is saltpetre which can be difficult now as they assume if you buy it in any quantity you want to make a bomb.

I quite like it but it tends to be cheaper cuts of beef which can be quite fatty.
