Sometimes it is better to discover an author after they have written several books. That way you aren't waiting forever for their next offering.:)

I also like Robert Jordan but had the misfortune to read his first book in the Wheel of Time series right after he wrote it. Now I have had to wait months to years for each part of the continuing saga.
