I've gone the route of the filter. I am populating the ListBox via a DataBinding control. Selecting the 'date' field from the Sessions table, and using a filter.

I have create an event handler for the SelectionChanged event of the DataGridView. In the handler, I just set the filter string for the ListBox.

Works very nicely.
