I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but I think that's a bit strong. I absolutely agree with you that the quintessential VFP app can be written effectively in .NET.
However, I actually disagree with you about the IDE. I consider the VFP IDE to be at least as good, and maybe even a little better than the IDE in VS2005. Now, MS made some big enhancements to the debugger in VS2005, but there are still a few aspects of the VFP IDE that I wish were in the VS2005 IDE.
I've been a big advocate for learning .NET - but this type of post is a little more alienating than instructive. (Good god, has John Ryan invaded my body???)
