Doug,
>I got a new Dell widescreen with the shiny screen and thought it would drive me crazy too but I actually like it now that I'm used to it.
I guess it's a matter of using it for a few days to retrain the brain to overlook the glare, eh? Or just never use it in a room with lights on or near a window. :-) I just know that every time I look at a shiny screen in the store I mostly notice the bright store lights reflecting on the screen.
>I'm not sure if it's Vista or the video card, but it's pretty smart about knowing how to rearrange things when you switch down to lower resolution and only a single display.
Are you running Vista all the time or do you have a dual boot or Virtual PC setup on that machine? I want to be able to run Vista and XP on Virtual PC, but don't know anything about setting that up, especially on a new laptop with likely no OS disk.
Looks like it's time to learn something new again... which is OK, because I haven't learned anything new this week so far. :-)
