Is it me, or is this Don Imus thing getting overblown?

Well, that's just it. Blacks can get away with using the N word but whites can't. And I don't know that it's really a double standard.

From what I have read there is quite a bit of disagreement over whether the N word should be used even by blacks. I can't speak for how they react to it but to me it has no place in the modern world.
