The owner of a private forum has every right to determine the speech in that forum. In this case, the owners (CBS and NBC) decided that the cost to their companies of keeping Imus was greater than the value he brought them.

Well that's a good point. But why is everyone wimpering and whinning about it then? I remember in like 2nd grade being thought that if I didn't like the show I was listening too I could switch the channel and be done with it. Ok not a freedom of speach issue - obviously you're right about that. And hey CBS and NBC can have on who they want. But ya know what's gonna happen now? A lawsuit! OMG someone called me a bad name! My life is ruined I must suuue! Waaah waaah wahh. That's the whole reason this thing is going to turn into (or sorry has turned into) another media circus - cause some bozo somewhere wants to get paid (aka - sue).
