I was thinking FTP would be more simple and efficient than using HTTP for the file transfers, but I cannot find any documentation on the use of FTP file transfers from within VFP - I've looked here in the KB, and in Advisor.

The user would select the files they would like to keep updated, and a destination directory. VFP would monitor the site, download any updated ZIP file, and unzip it into the specified directory.

Check out WWIPSTUF from Rick Strahl at www.west-wind.com
He has some examples that (I believe) do exactly what you are asking. Quite easy to use and free.
