Just killing some time waiting for the new Sopranos episode. It's still sinking in that there are only seven more that we will be able to watch without knowing what happens.

I wasn't sure what time I would be home this evening so set the TiVo to record the show. When I checked to be sure it was in the to-be-recorded queue I noticed a 15 minute short about the music on the show was recorded yesterday. Apparently that was due to the series recording option. IAC, interesting stuff including interviews with David Chase and Miami Steve. Chase said he was a fan of Steve's early 1980s band, the Disciples of Soul, and decided that if he ever got a show on the air he was going to use one particular song. Which he did, on The Sopranos. And added MS to the cast for good measure. No previous acting experience but Chase said he saw MS emcee a charity event or something and saw stage presence in him that made him believe he could act. It's interesting that MS, an actual rock and roll star, plays one of the quietest characters on the show.

Adriana still should have known better than to get in that car with him....

Another striking thing Chase said was that he doesn't mind if song lyrics used on the show are a little too on the nose sometimes. He said this is because most of the characters do not perceive or describe things accurately. I thought that was a really interesting thing to say. There are layers upon layers, some of which you miss even if you're watching for them. I had never thought of the characters in that way but Chase is right. (Of course, he would be, wouldn't he?)

Maybe Kevin Goff will get his wish tonight -- Bobby and Janice get whacked, then Meadow stands in front of the camera and slowly takes all her clothes off, LOL.
