Actually, when I was young (under 12) all of my friends' homes had at least one weapon visible. We had one handy and a gun cabinet with the rest. Most had gun cabinets as well. We also never locked our doors or windows back then. No one broke in because they knew that everyone had a weapon and they would get shot. A whole different world...
