We are in the planning stages of switching to a server DB next year with our fox UI and middle and then moving the UI and middle to C# in 2009. Management does not want to give us the 18-24 months to do it all over to .Net at once so we have to work in stages, 12 months for the server switch and the another 12-18 for the UI/middle conversion.

We ( developers ) are arguing for Sql Server, but sales wants Oracle. We just feel we can move faster with Sql Server since we already have a base knowledge and we are looking for examples of existing software that is large like our that hooks to Oracle and are not having much luck ( which is good IMO ) so we can push our agenda.
