>Thank you. I assume you mean Boeing and do you know what the app used for? What is NPP and what do they do?

NPP- Neuclear Power Plant. Control some processes and write in DB some data.

>We are in the planning stages of switching to a server DB next year with our fox UI and middle and then moving the UI and middle to C# in 2009. Management does not want to give us the 18-24 months to do it all over to .Net at once so we have to work in stages, 12 months for the server switch and the another 12-18 for the UI/middle conversion.

We just feel we can move faster with Sql Server since we already have a base knowledge and we are looking for examples of existing software that is large like our that hooks to Oracle and are not having much luck ( which is good IMO ) so we can push our agenda.

My personal advices.
1. VFP is faster than C# in client server apps.
2. May be it will be better if you will switch app to web(with ASP.Net/C#) to do it around 2011.
3. SQLServer is faster than Oracle in field of business transactions. There a lot of articles for this. But it is weak when is processed images. Especialy for seaqrching images stored in DB Oracle is a few times faster.

All other is marketing tricks, advertising, etc.
Your sales people are not specialist and read only advertising it will be stupid if they define technology policy
