Saying we don't need to be concerned about shooting deaths in the U.S. because more people die on the highways or at the hands of the medical profession (whatever that means) makes about as much sense as comparing the number of gun deaths to the number of people who catch the flu every year in Asia. The second number is bigger but it's no excuse for trivializing the first number.
