If you have one parent table and two child tables .. I'd say leave the tables alone and you have a perfect candidate for multiple detail bands on the report. Just open the tables and SET RELATION and SET SKIP and run the report. Multiple detail bands are much simplier than trying to use a bunch of objects with PRINT WHENs scattered through one detail band.
