Yes, I can remember playing on a snooker table (a long time ago) and it was much harder than pool due to the smaller pockets with rounded cushion edges. The billiards I'm thinking of would be "carom billiards" and played on a table with no pockets as opposed to "pocket billiards" which, I guess, would/could be played on a snooker table.
