With all of the driving back and forth to Fayetteville, to/from work, picking up Haley after school, I fill up my 33-35 mpg car 4 times a week! I put 39,000 miles on it since I purchased it in October 2006. I have never even owned a car that had 39,000 miles on it before!

>I think there would be logistical problems with that. Besides, owners of gas guzzlers already pay more, since they need more gas.

>I have a Jetta and do a mix of highway and city driving. It gets right around 30 mpg every time. A fill-up now costs over $40, and with my work commute plus numerous trips back and forth to Wisconsin I have to fill it up at least once a week. Gas is now one of the biggest items in my budget.

>>How about pumps with lower prices for 4 cyl vehicles and hybrids with mpg above 30? :o) An actual benefit for buying a more fuel efficient vehicle...

At the same time, as long as they are willing to pay more at pump, not much could be done about it. To give you fuller picture I have even stronger dislike to those driving SUVs and preaching moderation and environment protection to others.

>>>I agree, but you cannot have separate pumps for different cars. It is not convenient, but higher prices is the best recipe for better car technologies. If prices could stay low, then SUVs would grow even bigger.
