I got more than enough 'holidays' off when I worked for the government. It was the first and only time I actually got veterans day off. I always felt that every veteran should get that day off. When I was working for a bank, I got both Presidents Day and MLK Birthday off, but we were able to trade those two for other days (those were the only two holidays that could be switched). The subsidiary I was working for traded those two for Good Friday and the day after Thanksgiving.

>>>See my reply to Tracy. Do you personally get this day off to commemorate the average of Washington and Lincoln's birthdays? I don't.

>>But you said "official U.S. holidays." That means the ones the government recognizes, not the ones you get off.

>OK, I misused "official." It still seems like a trifling distinction. How many of us work for the government? It's not a holiday most of us get off. Better?
