Matt,

>I have downloaded the Visual Studio C# Express edition from Microsoft web site. It installed fine, then I was given a download link to the MM .NET trial edition by Kevin, but when I tried to install it, it failed with an error message "object reference not set to an instance of an object". I tried it on two different machines with the same results.

It has all of the .NET 2.0 objects in the toolbox, but something must still be different about it becuase MM .NET would not install on top of it.

I don't have an emnpty machine that doesn't already have VS 2005 or VS 2003 installed on it, so I can't try this out, but my guess is you'll probably need the 90-day trail version of Visual Studio. Again, if you haven't already done so, I recommend checking out the Microsoft Empower program:
