1227619, there's some good insight into what kept VFP alive, apart from the community. It was its usage in the military and civil services. I know for a fact that Virginia Unemployment Services (or whatever it was called) ran FP(W? - I'd rather guess something converted into VFP5, quite crude looking), because the guy there stopped asking questions about my data as soon as he heard I was a foxer, and started asking how could I fix the word wrap problem in their exported reports (even more crude report .... ascii).
